Director’s Introduction
The Shape of Things- everyone's been asking me what's it all about. It could be about Exeter University, or maybe about any of the people you know, the people you like or the people you don't. It could be about art. I don't think so, though. It may just be about getting things wrong. All of the characters do that a lot. They can't quite fit in... but then who can say they fit in 100% to their surroundings?
Please come forward and let me meet you because I've got a few questions to ask.
The cast are all partially like their characters, which is why we chose them. I chose to do it outside the M&D room as opposed to in because it's a public space we've all sat in, drank coffee or tea or whatever in and been surrounded by people who, to look at, we think we have sussed out...but it doesn't really work out that way, in reality. Anyway, watch the play, take something away from it if you want or just enjoy it on face value... what else can we do sometimes?
I'd like to also say a MASSIVE thank you to...
Ally, Will and the production team, Matt the techy and his crew, the EUTCO committee, Katherine for her assistance in making our beautiful amateur porn video, Timepiece for their money, the cast for working harder than Serbian prostitutes, Slutty Palin for the morale boosts in times of illness and/or stressful times, Sarah for the artwork, everyone who's coming to watch it and anyone else who, at the time of writing this, in the midst of heavy amounts of work, I have failed to write down but who have contributed to the well-being of the play.
